D to C#

Post by davemaynard1 »

Hi

I play Bb bass, and recently in a piece of music was asked to play D to Middle C# semiquavers which were slurred. The conductor told me an alternative way, but I have forgotten it!

It its a tad tricky, as the fingering for D is 1+3 (or 4th) and the C# is all 3. Is there an alternate to it?

Thanks my fingers were aching after it, as I have 20 bars of it

You can also play C# on 2+4 - so stick your 4th valve down and just waggle the 2nd valve.
