March - Jingle Bells For Brass Band

Post by Jacob Larsen »

An little march on the famous Jingle Bells. The words and music were
written in 1857 by James Pierpont for a Thanksgiving program at his church in Boston. It was so well received that the children were asked to
repeat it at Christmas. It has been a Christmas song ever since.

March - Jingle Bells has recieved some reviews on Sibelius Music..

Jingle all the way ! "Jacob has made an exellent brass band arrangement of Jingle Bells here with enough originality to mark it out
from usual brass band festive arrangements, including some sumptuous
close harmony writing. Highly recommended and playable by (in my opinion) anything from a good 4th section band and upwards. Well done!"

Excellent - Well done Jacob, an excellent new addition for the festive
season. As said by the previous reviewer, enough change has gone in to make it different and some nice harmonies as well. Well done.

There's an excellent arrangement of Jingle Bells arranged, if I recall correctly, by Derek Ashmore. It's published by Hallamshire, I recommend you try that.

Yes.. I know that arrangement and that was actually the reason I made this new arrangement which is already a big hit with brass bands in Denmark...
