My late father, Colin Shaw, played euphonium with the Black Diamond Band and also guested with other bands including the Black Dyke Mills Band during the 1940’s and 1950’s.
I am trying to build a comprehensive anthology of both his solo and ensemble pieces for my recently-widowed mother, but am missing a very important music score – “My Pretty Jane”, which I believe was arranged by Hartman. My father played this to my mother when she accepted his proposal of marriage. He subsequently played it on many different occasions, including as a competition piece. I have had no luck, thus far, in locating the score, and wondered if any member could help me.
