Anyone heard of Kellingley Colliery Band?

Post by pkellingley »

I'm trying to track down any information about "Kellingley Colliery Band". A record was released purporting to be by this band during the miner's strike but I can't find any trace of such a band. Anyone know anything? (Or have a copy of the record they'd like to sell  ?)

Cheers

Hi I know it is quite a few years from your posted date, but I have a number of the Kellingley Colliery ( miners Strike) records if you are still interested.

This is weird Richard. No answer for 7 years, then 2 of us come along.

I have just the 1 copy of the "hit single". I was part of the band who recorded the tracks, and my Dad was a miner at Kellingley.
Sandy's Miners Gala march was easier to play sitting, than marching!

Hi Richard,

I remember you all well :)

Hope you're all well and still banding. I had a long break, but playing again now the kids are.
