Introduction and Hello

Hi all,

I just signed on to the board forum here and wanted to introduce myself and our band. Located in Calgary, AB we are the Northwest Mounted Police Commemorative Association Brass Band.

We got started in 2013 and are a 10 piece band. (7 brass and 3 drummers) We got started to recreate the brass bands found at Northwest Mounted Police Forts in the 1880's and 90s in western Canada. We wear the uniform of the NWMP as issued in 1881. We also do street parades and fancy drill. We play a lot of period music, some dixieland and a few modern tunes as well.

We are a non profit volunteer organization funded by our own fundraising efforts. In our first two years we have had over 100 events and rehearsals combined. We love to play and socialize. Its a lot of work, but a labour of love as I am sure everyone can attest to.
