After a fantastic day of music making in 2022 and 2023,
Lake District Music is welcoming young and amateur brass players to take part in its third annual community event and help launch its 2024 summer festival (26 July - 4 August 2024).
Celebrating Gustav Holst's 150th anniversary, participants will explore The Perfect Fool, A Moorside Suite, Jupiter from The Planets.
The day will be under the direction of conductor & cellist Stephen Threlfall, Artistic Director of LDSM, plus guest performers London Central Brass Quintet.
During the day there will be sectional rehearsals led by guests leaders and the event will culminate not only in an informal performance for family and friends at 3.15pm, but a celebrity performance by Peter Moore (former BBC Young Musician of the Year and Principal Trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra) at 4.30pm.
They anticipate that places will be in high demand and encourage you to
book early.
The day of workshops is open to Cornet, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Horn and Euphonium (in B flat).
Players should be Grade 4 standard or above (ABRSM or equivalent) and music will be made available before the day.
